The topshop sale has started!

For all of you topshop addicts, there's good news: the sale has started! However when I popped into my local store it was the non-sale stock that I was looking for- I really really needed some new sandals!
.
This week has been a really good shoe week; three new pairs in one week has to be some kind of record!
However it isn't all good news: my favourite gladiator sandals that I got in Florida lst year have been afflicted with shoe mouth. And not once, but three times. Everytime I repair them, they start talking again!

Hence my need for new sandals, and I needed sandals that would fill multiple roles; comfy for work and shopping but fancy enough for a night out (I dont always like to wear heels!) Here are the ones I chose:

It is so hard to photograph your own feet!! Both pairs were £40 each and both are 100% leather. I've never owned white shoes before, but I thought it would make a nice change for wearing with summery dresses. The black ones are exactly what I wanted in terms of the day to evening look.

What do you think?

PS- I will be heading to topshop to hit the sale running at some stage this weekend, so that post will come soon!

Buttery pants!

Like Kate from Make do style I received a pair of pure silk knickers in the post this afternoon. They were made by British lingerie designer Ayten Gasson for Andrex. Pants made by Andrex doesn't sound sexy does it? But these do look pretty good (although the size large is a 12-14 and a little snug on me!) I also really liked the silk pouch they came in!!

The usp of these unusual knickers is that they are enriched with Shea butter. (to flog Andrex shea butter loo roll, of course!) The idea of wearing pants full of lotion made me feel itchy and uncomfortable at the thought, but the shea butter panel just makes them feel softer and even more silky.

And it's all for a good cause, as they say! Andrex is donating £5 from the sale of every pair of knickers to the "look good...feel better" charity that helps women undergoing cancer treatment combat the physical side effects.

If you would like your very own pair then visit the andrex website and feel that wonderful sense of well being that comes with doing something for charity. I wouldn't recommend wearing buttery knickers everyday though!

Louboutin's in the house!

Here at chez Tor we have been going shoe crazy this week! As a gift for being a wonderful girlfriend and (more realistically) my impending graduation next month, the boyfriend took me to Selfridges this evening to choose a new pair of shoes. Although I yearned for the Jimmy Choos i'd shown you in the last post, budget constraints had me lurking around the Kurt Geiger/Carvella section. (The crazily reduced Prada ones I had picked out were sold out in my size!) Choosing the right pair took hours; I was nearly swayed by a gorgeous imitation LV grey and pink tribal-type shoe and took some persuading to put the tan lace up stillettos back on the shelf; If only I could own them all!

However I am more than happy with my final decision: so happy I keptt putting them on and demanding people look at my feet all night! These are the pair I ultimately picked- the black 80s wedding heels (not their technical name!) from the Kurt Geiger Fashionistas range:
And here is the press shot:
Reduced from £220 to £79!

However, never one to be outdone, my sister had her annual review at work on Monday. And as a reward for being the best poster seller and marketeer in the industry (do I exagerate? you decide!) her boss took her to the Christian Louboutin store and said she could choose whatever she wanted. Bucking the trends and instead focusing on longevity for her ultimate shoe purchase, she opted for these gorgeous tan peep toes with the stand out turquoise spike heel:

Jealous? Me? Well, erm, yes actually!

So whilst it is true that there are Louboutins in my house. They just aren't mine! But I think my shoes are just as lovely anyway actually. So there!

Love, Tor x
PS- Thanks Mike!
