Gogo Philip opens new stand in Westfield

Hi guys,
I seem to find myself popping over to Westfield (the big London shopping centre) more and more: it's so convenient to have all my favourite shops under one roof, and its only 6 stops on the central line from my office - score! Last night I headed over to Westfield because Italian jewellery co (and my new favourite obsession) Gogo Philip have opened a stand alone jewellery store there (on the first floor just outside Uniqlo, if you feel like popping along) and I just had to check it out.

I can't believe how inexpensive the jewellery is: Topshop prices (or less) but for more unusual and unique designs. The problem with Topshop, much as I love it, is that everyone is always wearing it, so you risk looking exactly the same as everyone else. This isn't a problem with the Gogo Philip stuff!

Some of the jewellery is just too cool for school (and way too cool for me!) As much as i'd love to be able to pull of a necklace with a moustache pendant, or mismatched earrings, I fear i'm slightly too old, and slightly too untrendy. I love their newest collections: Art Deco angular inspired pieces in fabulous bright gold with accents of shiny black, coral, or turquoise. You're going to see a lot of pictures of me wearing the oversized coral-detail necklace above this summer: I just couldn't resist it. Coral is such a great jewellery colour: I may well have to go back and buy the long strand of coral beads as well! Could Gogo Philip be the brand that forces me to hit the shops? Quite possibly...

New Levi's flagship store: Now open!

Last week I was invited to the opening of the new Levis flagship store, but sadly couldn't attend (a combination of a cold and the nasty rain persuaded me to stay at home!) however I made up for it when I went for a sneaky peak at lunchtime today.

The store is now opened on Regents street and for a jeans store (not my favourite thing to purchase!) it's amazing: you can enter and completely immerse yourself in denim, it's less shopping and more a shopping experience. When you enter the store it feels like you're entering a factory or a warehouse: lots of steel, exposed brick and concrete. A drawback of the store is that its full of intimidating trendy people, but I suppose thats what you get in a funky jeans shop!

A positive of the store though is that you can do so much more than shop: when you enter you walk into what they call the "origins" section which is a massive non-shopping area that will be used to show case things like exclusive product collaborations or art exhibitions. The picture above is the current origins section (I would have definitely preferred the art!) If you're a denim person and not a committed dress person like me, it's a store that's definitely worth checking out, both for the jeans and the experience.

Today was my first day at my new job, so sorry for the slow and small posting and the lack of comments; i'll knuckle down and get back to it tomorrow when i'm feeling less overwhelmed and a little sleepy!

How do we feel about Toywatch?

...I ask because, as I never wear a watch myself, I don't know! On the one hand, I enjoy the vibrancy of the colours and the chunkiness of them and on the other hand...well....they look a tiny bit tacky don't they? I guess that's the point!
I'm not a fan of the chunky metal and sporty ranges, but I must admit to having a secret weakness for the plasteramic range: Chic ceramic looking plastic watches. The way I see it, if you're going for the oversized neon tack factor, you might as well go all out for it! And Michelle Obama agrees with me it seems: she rocked the oversized lilac version on a recent holiday in France.
If I was going to get involved, it would be with this bright canary yellow jelly watch. It's an unmissable wrist adornment of sunglasses-required brightness; what's not to love? But of course, no matter how cool it is, I wouldn't wear this watch: despite my constant bangle wearing, I find having a watch strapped to my wrist very distracting and irritating!
.
So why all this talk about watches from someone who doesn't even wear a watch I hear you ask? Because maker of above mentioned neon watches Toywatch is set to launch its first ever flagship store on London’s Regent St.
.
Coinciding the opening with London Fashion Week, ToyWatch is also collaborating with LFW to produce an anniversary Limited Edition style celebrating 25 years of London Fashion Week. Apparently "details of the style are firmly under lock and key, but soon to be released…"

The fashionista version of the fluoro watch is coming. You have been warned.
