Topshop sale: My shopping picks!

The Topshop mid-season sale started yesterday, andI got straight in there to see what I could find! I actually got really lucky because alot of the stuff had been wrongly priced on the tills (according to the guy serving me this happens on the first day of every sale) and so I got a top for £5 (today it's £25) a top for £10 (today it's £20) and a pair of black leggings for £7. Leggings never normally go in the sale and I wear them every single day so I was chuffed with my bargain there!

Here is a quick outfit shot of the top I got for £5. I'm wearing it simply with the black leggings and a long line black vest teamed with my ASOS wedges. With hingsight the top makes me look broader than I am, and really needs a belt!

There are still loads of bargains to be had from the Topshop sale: if it wasn't the week before payday I would be going crazy! Here are my picks of the top five bargains from the sale that are currently available on the website:
Photobucket
Moths and bugs print blouse, was £35 now £15 (I loved this and tried it on but it cut too high on my bust)
Mesh tunic, was £28 now £12. (This has massive layering potential and is something you could do so much with whatever the season)
Horse sweater, was £28 now £12 (They didn't have this in my size or I would've snapped it straight up!)
Danielle Scutt dress, was £50 now £25
Shoes, were £22 now £3. Yup you read that right, now £3: and they're 100% leather. How much of a bargain is that???
Belt was £25 now £12. If nude tones don't really suit you this would be the perfect way to jump on the massive nude trend without having to go overboard. Plus it's really cute!

I know I normally do my sales reviews from the shop but it was madness yesterday and I didn't even queue for a changing room - just threw the tops on over my dresses on the shop floor! Now all the summer sales are starting to get into full swing I will do some more proper reviews over the coming weeks: it's a good excuse to hit the shops!

Love, Tor xx

PS -Tadaa! Above is the inadvertant unveiling of my new hair colour - i've had lowlights put in to take away some of the harshness of the blonde. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, but I do think it suits my complexion more. It is weird to be darker whilst everyone else is going lighter for summer though!

Emma Cook @ Topshop

I went down to oxford street this evening with the specific intention of buying the deer print dress from the new Emma Cook at Topshop collection.

I'd been lusting over it for weeks! When I tried it on though, I was disapointed by how it looked; certainly not one for my body shape! Which is a shame, because as you can see by the close up of the pattern, it is perfect!I am beginning to wonder if people are beginning to lose interest in the designer collaborations. I think design is certainly taking precedence over the cache of having a designer name attached to a collection. The sale section of the store is absolutely jam packed full of Kate Moss, and almost every piece from the Barbara Hulanicki collection. See the BH dress and the KM playsuit below:

If you liked the look of these collections I would definitely recommend that you get down and have a look; the floor length Kate Moss dresses have been reduced to almost nothing! I also found these (not for me but great for somebody else!) vibrant coloured Dr Martin boots reduced to £30: What I ended up buying is for another post, but I can tell you this; I loved the pattern of the Emma Cook dress, but the fit definitely wasn't for me. And £85 seemed a little rich anyway! (well, thats what i'm telling myself to hide the disapointment anyway!)

Love Tor x

The topshop sale - a few picks!

I'm afraid this is the last offline sales post you will get for the next five days, whilst i'm stuck in quarantine. But luckily on Saturday, before all the drama, I went to the Topshop in Brent Cross to check out the sales. As much as I love the Oxford Street topshop (I sometimes call it the motherland!) I generally avoid it like the plague when the sales are on. It's too busy, too crowded, to difficult to find what you're looking for, and in my experience I can never find what I want in the size I want, and I always end up with an elbow to the ribs! So when the sale begins I make a beeline for any other large topshop store; in this case Brent Cross (The topshop in Norwich comes highly recommended if you're anywhere near: half the store is turned over to sale stock!)
So here are my picks of the sale. The oversized Barbara Hulanicki shopper bags have been reduced from £25 to £12. I'm kicking myself for not picking up the coral one for my swim kit; I might have to see if the boyfriend will run down and get it for me!

And now to the changing rooms:
Obviously because it was the summer sales the theme of the day was lots of pretty florals and cotton dresses: perfect for summer holidays and sunny days in the park! Most of the dresses were a little tight and cut too short on my bust, but the fit of all of them wasn't bad at all! I LOVE the top with the rivets, but with those leggings? Only if I want to look like a floral hippo! I think you'd have to be a very skinny minnie to wear these without a skirt or dress on top!

I was in such a rush on Saturday that I didn't have the time to stand in the queue and pay for anything and now i'm stuck in the house for a week - I hope there is still some stock available when I finally get out!!

Love Tor
